Diversity award for L’Arche

Great news today for L’Arche as we received a Bronze award in Diversity.  To achieve this award three staff members participated in Diversity and equality training over a number of months. A huge thank you to Marie from our Kilkenny Community and to Anne and Nurcan from our Cork Community, without their commitment it would not have been possible. Along with successfully completing the course, we worked on updating policies and also under the guidance of the Irish centre for Diversity we will be introducing a number of people focused policies over the coming months. This is a huge achievement, and we are very proud.

Press release form the Irish Centre for Diversity:

‘We have awarded Investors in Diversity Bronze accreditation to L’Arche Ireland and Northern Ireland, members of a group of over 154 worldwide communities where people with and without intellectual disabilities share life together in community.   This programme was supported by Carlow Kilkenny Skillnet – a multi-sector network committed to providing training for local businesses – as part of their commitment to Diversity in the workplace.   Investors in Diversity Bronze affirms that the organisation has built a strong foundation to embed Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) across the operation and is equipped for the journey of becoming more equitable and inclusive. We look forward to supporting them as they continue on the path of progress.   Supported by Ibec, Investors in Diversity is Ireland’s premier D&I accreditation mark. The programme recognises existing efforts and supports the journey of continuous improvement by providing a structured framework to transform practices and culture’.
